Mom was right. You really shouldn’t get a tattoo of Conan O’Brien. Especially if it’s going to end up looking like Tom Arnold with red hair. Entertainment Weekly has put together a hilarious slide show of twenty-one really awful celebrity tattoos here. Now, raise a glass and congratulate yourself that your the smart guy who didn’t get the ALF, Alan Alda or Judge Judy tattoo permanently inked on your skin.

As we previously mentioned here, we’ve been waiting for this for months. It’s Sam Raimi returning to his horror roots and doing what he does best, scaring you, but having some laughs too. Ever since some of our team (who are still talking about how scary/fun it was) got to see Drag Me To Hell in advance screenings, the rest of us have been waiting on pins and needles for what we’re told is “the most awesome horror movie to sear your eyeballs” in some time. We already love Sam Raimi and Justin Long (remember his scene stealing gay pornstar turn in “Zack and Miri”?). Now, stir in some scary curse, Alison Lohman, and David Paymer and you’ve got yourself a good old-fashioned scary popcorn movie. Enjoy the trailer below.

This sounds like the start of a story that you tell around a campfire with a flashlight held under your chin, “Hidden beneath the U.S. West’s Great Basin, there’s a giant blob of rocky material dripping like honey.” But, it true!
Scientists have seen the blob which is between about 30 miles and 60 miles in diameter and extends from a depth of about 47 miles to at least 310 miles beneath Earth’s surface, and are continuing to investigate. To learn more about the origin of the blob, towhat it is and what it’s made of, click here.
Once upon a time, live albums were a way for musical acts to break out. Sure there was Frampton Comes Alive, but acts as diverse as John Denver, Cheap Trick and even The Osmonds made great live records. So, what happened? Blame easy access to video for fans and YouTube. Gone are the days when you had to sneak recording devices into concerts. Now, just about anyone can post a video of a show they went to five minutes ago or even during the show. Click here to read more about what msbnc.com calls “the sad death of the live album”.
It’s been called “a real-life ‘M*A*S*H.’ Two-time Oscar-winning director Terry Sanders went to Iraq and Afghanistan to shoot “Fighting For Life,”, a powerful, sobering and emotional documentary of American military medicine interweaving three stories: 21 year old Army Specialist Crystal Davis who must “bounce back” after losing a leg, military doctors, nurses and medics, working with skill, compassion and dedication amidst the vortex of the Iraq War and students at USU, the “West Point” of military medicine, on their journey toward becoming career military physicians.
The filmakers had extraordinary access to military hospitals, combat support hospitals in Iraq, medevac flights with wounded soldiers and to the people who’s stories they are telling. The Village Voice called it “staggeringly affecting” and Tom Hanks said of the combat medics, “Some of them are funny. Some are good-looking. Some are modest. Some are filled with hubris. They are all heroes.” Learn more about the movie here. Take a look at the powerful trailer below.
What’s Wolfram Alpha? It’s a search engine that’s a lot like Google but the way it searches for information is completely different, which is why some people are saying it might be bigger than Google at some point. There’s a quick interview with the creator of Wolfram Alpha, Dr. Stephen Wolfram here and a nice overview of how it works here. You can also visit the Wolfram website here. Or take a peek at the video below that compares Google and Wolfram Alpha.
We’re not going to lie. Sometimes, we don’t even “get” Regina Spektor. But, geez louise, this performance is spectacular. Check out Ms. Spektor performing “Blue Lips” on the coolest-show-we-don’t-get-here “Later With Jools Holland”.
In three days, Drag Me To Hell, opens in theaters. We previously said here how much audiences at SXSW were loving a rough cut of the film and all the early signs continue to point to an awesome final product. Here’s a link to the trailer.
