There’s alot in this video we don’t even understand, but we wanted to share it with you to give you a chance to get ahead of the curve. Apparently, Microsoft is rumored to have something in the works to challenge the iphone and the very cool Kevin Pereira, host of Attack of the Show (AOTS), got the equally cool Wall Street Journal tech guru, Julia Angwin, to talk about what the real scoop is. Enjoy the video below.
Get three hot days in a row and people start thinking about summer—- and an ice cold beer. Some recent favorite pilsners were reviewed here “With their dry citrus and floral flavors, augmented by a lively, bracing hop bitterness, great pilsners snap you to attention,” writes Eric Asimov. “And they are fairly low in alcohol, so you can drink with gusto rather than sip.”
Eighteen beers were tasted and some champs were chosen. Here’s their top picks:Victory Prima Pils (“Crisp, floral and wonderfully refreshing with a lingering bitterness”); Pennsylvania Brewing Kaiser Pils(“Snappy, lively citrus flavors balanced by bracing hop bitterness”);Tröegs Sunshine Pils (“Zesty, with floral aromas and bitter hop flavors that linger”), and, coming in a respectable fourth, Brooklyn Pilsner. Cheers!

There are two big dvd releases this week, Bride Wars and The Uninvited, but let’s just say it: they stink. Seriously. Big hype, fat lotta nuttin’.
But, hiding beneath the hype for those two bombs are two great movies that are well acted, provocative and worth your time: What Doesn’t Kill You and JCVD
What Doesn’t Kill You was based on the true story of the film’s writer-director, Brian Goodman. South Boston best friends Ethan Hawke and Mark Ruffalopay the bills via various crime (knocking off trucks, robbing drug dealers and occasionally, kidnapping poodles) until some setbacks threaten to divide them. This is a gripping crime drama that hardly anyone saw last December. But, it deserves a look on DVD for the phenomenal acting by its leads, especially Ruffalo, who disappears under the skin of his badass character. Enjoy the trailer below.
The Mussels from Brussels is back! Playing “himself,” i.e., an international action stud whose bruising child custody battle has him literally going postal, Jean-Claude Van Damme reveals a hidden third dimension to his previously wooden persona. Here, the life of Jean-Claude Van Damme collides with the reality of a hold-up in Brussels, Belgium and suddenly the huge movie star turns into an ordinary guy, filled with fears, contradictions and hopes. This movie got raves from critics and we’re highly recommending it too. Enjoy the trailer below.
The world’s largest social network is home to millions of avid readers, many of whom are discovering the advantages of online book groups. Book Clubs, a new social media application on Facebook, offers proof that the era of online reading groups has arrived.
Launched in late 2008, Book Clubs features more than 6,000 book lovers and several hundred online book groups. Book Clubs makes it easy for Facebook members to instantly create or join a reading group devoted to any category, region, interest or author. The application is free to any Facebook member.
In Book Clubs you can post comments about a book or author, rate or review books, build or search a library of titles, entirely at your convenience. If you choose, you can arrange meetings in person, too, and use book clubs as a place to chat or post club news between meetings.

With Ashton Kutcher and CNN breaking the one million followers mark and Oprah sending her first “tweet” live on her show many celebrities, politicians and experts are moving to Twitter to get their message out.
“The old Q and A is now Tweet and Reply says,” Jimmy Vee, co-author of the book Gravitational Marketing: The Science of Attracting Customers. “The days of the standard interview are over. With new technology like twitter rapidly gaining favor there are newer, faster and more efficient ways of getting information into the hands of the people who want it.”
The concept of doing interviews on twitter is gaining steam. In March, John McCain took part in a TwitterView (twitter interview) with ABC New Washington Correspondent George Stephanopoulos.
“An interesting effect TwitterViews are having on celebrities, politicians and experts is that it’s forcing them to be more pithy and direct with their message. A good thing for Americans with shorter and shorter attention spans,” say Travis Miller, co-author of Gravitational Marketing.
Celebrities, politicians and experts are not the only ones who should pay close attention and capitalize on this movement toward twitter. Vee and Miller suggest that business owners should use Twitter to conduct interviews of their own as a tool to combat the recession, shave down marketing costs and grow their business.
Up until now the process of conducting an interview on twitter was a mystery. Vee and Miller have simplified and outlined the process in a free report for business owners who want to capitalize on this fast growing trend but don’t know where to start.
The report is spreading virally on twitter and has been downloaded by over one thousand business owners and entrepreneurs in the last week alone.
The report is titled: How To Conduct A TwitterView: A Fun and Easy Way To Get New Followers, Increase SEO and Naturally Attract More Customers and Prospects. It’s available for free on their blog here.

Yesterday, we had the chance to see Burning Down The House and loved it. Director Mandy Stein said they had finished it only four days before the festival opened, so it was still a little rough, but all of the heart was there. The film is a loving tribute to Hilly Kristal owner and founder of CBGB’s and the sense of community at the club. In fact, people frequently told Mandy at the screening how surprised they were to be so moved by the film. We asked her about how the film will be received differently by those who did go to the club and those who never got the chance. What would she tell those that never got the chance? “That there’s a CBGB’s in every town and to fight for it”.
The film features great interviews with lots of former CB’s regulars including, members of Blondie, The Dictators and Bad Brains as well as Stein’s mom, Linda Stein, former manager of The Ramones and the queen of CBGB’s. (Her dad is Seymour Stein founder of Sire Records and the first person to sign Madonna, but he does not appear in the movie).
